Contents Page House Styles
The contents page in Kerrang Magazine follows the same layout each week, the big picture on the left which relates to the main story in the magazine and then on the right is a column for the rest of the articles with the page numbers. The big picture is there so that the audience will be immediately drawn to that article specifically because it is an important article due to the fact that it has a picture that covers most of the contents page. At the top right of the page the word contents always has the same drawings surrounding it and is in the same place in each magazine. This gives the audience familiarity and shows that the magazine is confident in their style. In the bottom right corner there is another picture that is bigger than any of the other pictures on the page, apart from the one that relates to one of the main stories. This is there to show that the article is also important and worth reading but not as important as the main story. The writing in the column at the left is smaller as it isn't as big of a story as the main story is and they are under subheadings so that they can be organised and each page can be found by the reader easier.
